Coming this September, Solaya is Kenny Atkinson’s first London outpost: 25 floors high with unparalleled views of London and beyond is a modern French Mediterranean restaurant and bar in the heart of Shoreditch.

The food is inspired by the flavours of the Côte d’Azur, focusing on Southern French and Mediterranean cuisine, fusing sunshine cuisine with contemporary dining. The wine list will have a strong French influence as well as some less known Mediterranean regions with a cocktail list to complement.

Kenny Atkinson

Solaya is the first London restaurant by award-winning Michelin-starred chef Kenny Atkinson.

Kenny is a born & bred Geordie and a professional chef for over 29 years. As Chef Patron of ‘House of Tides’ and ‘Solstice’, he is the first chef to hold two separate Michelin stars in Newcastle. Solstice has recently been awarded No.67 in the Top 100 Restaurant Awards in the UK.

Kenny has become a well known face on TV, winning the Great British Menu in 2009 & 2010.

Kenny is the concept chef and will lead on menu and creation with day-to-day kitchen operations to be overseen by Head Chef Nicola Losquadro, previously the Head Chef at Sucre and before that Head Chef at Mere.

With a menu designed for sharing, hero dishes include the delicate Tuna Carpaccio, alongside the rich Bouillabaisse with Lobster providing a true homage to the coastal Mediterranean cuisine, whilst the Scallop Crudo with Heritage Tomatoes offers a vibrant, sun-ripened pairing. For heartier appetites, the Oven-Roasted Sole with capers, lemon and parsley delivers an elevated balance of zesty notes, and the Steak Tartare with Confit Yolk and Sourdough Toast redefines a classic with umami-rich flavours.

Solaya, is a French Mediterranean restaurant and bar located in art’otel London Hoxton led by Michelin-starred chef Kenny Atkinson, the restaurant is inspired by the sun-drenched flavours of Southern France and the Mediterranean, blending seasonal plates with a modern twist.

Located on the 25th floor of art’otel London Hoxton, Solaya offers panoramic views of London’s skyline with its 360-degree circular layout. Inspired by the restaurant’s name which draws connotations from the sun, the menu will feature flavour-led dishes with simplified plating that are seasonal and embody ‘sunshine on a plate’ all year round.

Solaya will also boast a selection of handcrafted cocktails that compliment the seasonal menu including the zesty Orange Spritz, with Lillet Blanc Vermouth, Orange Marmalade, Citrus and Telmont Reserve Brut Champagne as well as the smokey and sophisticated Fleuille de Figuier Penicillin infused with Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Fig Leaf Honey, Ginger, Ardbeg 10 and Citrus . An extensive wine list will feature strong French and Mediterranean influence.
